At Boteh Apothecary, we believe wellness begins by supporting the body before it becomes overwhelmed. Environmental stressors—whether from seasonal wildfire smoke, poor air quality, pollen, urban pollution, or dry indoor air—can place extra demands on the respiratory system and the body as a whole.
Environmental Resilience Tea was thoughtfully formulated to provide gentle, family-friendly herbal support during these times. Rather than masking symptoms, this blend brings together botanicals traditionally used to soothe irritated respiratory tissues, nourish the nervous system, and provide antioxidant-rich support as part of your everyday wellness routine.
We crafted this tea as a comforting ritual to help families care for themselves naturally when the environment asks a little more of the body.
Environmental Resilience Tea is for individuals and families looking to support their respiratory wellness during periods of seasonal environmental stress.
It may be especially helpful for those who:
- Experience seasonal air quality challenges such as wildfire smoke or increased pollution
- Spend time outdoors during periods of poor air quality
- Notice dry or irritated throats from smoke, dry air, or seasonal changes
- Want gentle, everyday respiratory and nervous system support
- Appreciate incorporating herbs into their family's wellness routine
Suitable for adults and children when prepared as directed.
Hot Infusion (Recommended Daily Use)
Add 1–2 teaspoons of loose-leaf tea to 8 ounces of freshly boiled water. Cover and steep for 15–20 minutes, then strain well before drinking.
- Adults: Enjoy 1–3 cups daily as desired.
- Children (1–12 years): Offer ¼–½ cup, up to 2–3 times daily, depending on age and preference.
- Children 12 years and older: May enjoy 1 cup, 1–2 times daily.
For added comfort, sweeten with honey after the tea has cooled slightly (do not give honey to children under 12 months of age).
Herbalist's Tip: Overnight Cold Infusion
For an extra nourishing preparation, combine 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf tea with 4 cups of cool, filtered water in a covered glass jar. Refrigerate and steep for 8–12 hours (overnight), then strain well through a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth.
Cold infusions are a traditional herbal preparation used for herbs that contain delicate water-soluble compounds, such as mucilage, minerals, and certain polysaccharides. Unlike hot water, which excels at extracting aromatic compounds, bitter constituents, and many antioxidants, cool water gently draws out these soothing, nourishing constituents while preserving their naturally silky texture.
Enjoy chilled or gently warmed. Do not boil after straining, as excessive heat can alter some of these delicate compounds.
Prepared tea should be refrigerated and enjoyed within 48 hours.
